Ash Point Estate understands that pets are cherished members of the family. For couples who can’t imagine saying “I do” without their four-legged companion present, our venue offers flexible, pet-friendly options designed with comfort, safety, and elegance in mind.
From walking your dog down the aisle to capturing unforgettable portraits by the sea, our estate welcomes well-behaved pets as part of your big day—within clear, respectful boundaries that maintain the beauty and integrity of the property.
Where Pets Are Welcome
Outdoor Ceremonies
Pets are happily allowed at outdoor ceremonies on the estate’s expansive, manicured grounds. Surrounded by natural coastal beauty and fresh air, your pet can play a meaningful role in your celebration.
The Carriage House (Beginning 2026)
Starting in 2026, pets will also be permitted inside The Carriage House during the ceremony only. This future policy update allows couples opting for an indoor ceremony to include their pet without compromising the atmosphere of the reception.
Indoor Spaces and Pet Restrictions
To preserve the estate’s historic interiors and ensure a comfortable experience for all guests, pets are not allowed inside any of the buildings, except for ceremonies held inside The Carriage House beginning in 2026.
Restricted areas include:
- The Main Estate House
- Reception spaces
- Dining and entertainment areas
We appreciate your understanding in helping us maintain our pristine venue for future events.
Pet Policy at a Glance
To provide a smooth and joyful experience for everyone—furry guests included—please review the following policies:
Pets Are Welcome for Ceremonies Only
Pets may be present during the ceremony but must leave the property immediately after. This ensures a relaxed environment for the remainder of your wedding day and keeps indoor spaces free of allergens and distractions.
Designate a Pet Caretaker
Every pet attending must have a dedicated caretaker. This person must be solely responsible for the pet during its time at the estate. They should not be a guest, member of the wedding party, or event vendor.
The caretaker’s responsibilities include:
- Managing your pet at all times
- Handling clean-up needs
- Escorting the pet off-site once the ceremony ends
- Being present for any rehearsals involving the pet, if applicable
Behavior and Leash Requirements
Pets must remain on-leash at all times while on the property and should be sociable, well-trained, and comfortable around people and loud sounds. Please bring waste bags and remove any pet-related debris promptly.
How Couples Are Including Pets in Their Weddings
- Walking the bride or groom down the aisle
- Serving as ring bearers with a decorative harness o floral collar
- Participating in pre-ceremony or post-ceremony photo shoots
- Wearing themed attire or accessories to complement the wedding palette
Your pet’s involvement can be as traditional or as creative as you wish, so long as it fits within our pet policy and timeline.
Planning Tips for a Pet-Friendly Wedding
Hire a Professional Pet Attendant
A growing number of wedding pet services now offer on-site care, transportation, and ceremony assistance. This allows you to focus on your day while ensuring your pet is well looked after.
Schedule a Venue Walk-Through
Bring your pet to the estate for a pre-wedding visit or rehearsal. Let them explore the grounds with their handler and become familiar with the environment, people, and sounds.
Pack a Pet Day Kit
Prepare a small tote with essentials like a leash, water bowl, treats, toy, blanket, and any grooming supplies. Having these items ready will ensure your pet stays calm and comfortable.
Inform Your Photographer
Let your photographer know your pet will be involved so they can plan special shots, lighting, and staging that capture your companion at their best.
Notify Guests
